Zero Gravity Flight Competition - Terms & Conditions for the UK
  1. This Zero Gravity Flight Competition ("this Competition") is open to all UK residents aged 18 or over, excluding directors and employees of Toshiba and other companies and persons associated with this Competition, and their families.
  2. By submitting an entry (as set out in the competition instructions located at www.toshiba.co.uk/startrek), entrants will be deemed to have agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions, and the terms and conditions of any prize they may win. All competition instructions form part of these terms and conditions.
  3. This Competition gives entrants the chance to win two (2) return flights to Las Vegas, USA, and a Zero Gravity Flight Experience, as further described in the competition instructions ("the prize"). Only prize, i.e. one (1) set of flights and one (1) Zero Gravity Flight Experience is available.
  4. To enter this Competition, entrants must purchase a new qualifying Toshiba TV, Laptop or DVD player, and complete and submit the competition application form ("entry") in accordance with the competition instructions.
  5. Entrants will be required to correctly answer a multiple choice question, and also complete a tie breaker by explaining in a specified number of words why they should win the prize.
  6. All entries must be received by 23:59 (UK time) on 14th June 2009 ("the Closing Date").
  7. Competition application forms received after the Closing Date will not be accepted.
  8. Only one (1) entry per person per product is permitted.
  9. Proof of completing or submitting an entry does not constitute proof of receipt.
  10. Toshiba reserves the right to disqualify incomplete or multiple entries, or entries made by third parties or agents.
  11. The winner will be the person who correctly answers the multiple choice question. In the event of a draw/tie, the prize will be awarded to the most original tiebreaker.
  12. The judge's decision is final.
  13. The winner will be selected on 16th June 2009, and the winner will be notified by e-mail or telephone as soon as possible thereafter.
  14. The winner must claim the prize within six (6) calendar months of 16th June 2009. If the winner does not claim the prize or cannot be traced within this period, Toshiba will be entitled to pick another winner, or dispose of the prize as it sees fit without any liability to the winner for having done so and without liability to any other entrant as to how the prize is disposed of.
  15. Winners are responsible for their own valid passports and any visas and inoculations, if applicable, as well as any other costs incurred during the trip (including, without limitation, spending money for meals and other expenses).
  16. Persons travelling must be aged 18 or over and prize winners must provide original proof of purchase and proof of age upon request by Toshiba.
  17. Travel insurance will not be provided.
  18. The winner must make their own way to the UK airport where the flight is departing.
  19. Toshiba reserves the right, without further payment or permission, to use and publish the name and county of the winner and to publicise the prize-giving presentation and for other promotional purposes.
  20. The name and county of the winner will be sent to those sending a SAE to the address below within four (4) weeks' of 16th June 2009.
  21. The prize is not transferable, and no cash alternative or alternative prizes will be offered.
  22. Toshiba shall not be liable for any loss, damage or injury of any nature howsoever caused, sustained by any participant under this competition. However, nothing in these rules shall have the effect of excluding or restricting Toshiba's liability for personal injury or death caused by the proven negligence of Toshiba.
  23. The winner agrees and acknowledges that they take part in the trip and the prize at their own risk and any participation will be subject to the terms and conditions of the organisers of the trip and prize.
  24. Toshiba shall not be liable for any failure to fulfil this offer where such failure is caused by any supervening circumstances amounting to force majeure. Such circumstances shall include, but shall not be limited to, severe weather conditions, fire, flood, war, earthquake, riots, industrial dispute, terrorism, acts of God, supervening legislation, or events which, without the fault of either party, render performance impossible or incapable of satisfactory execution. In the event of such circumstances, Toshiba reserves the right to offer an alternative prize of equal or greater value.
  25. These terms and conditions shall be governed by the laws of England and come under the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
