Integrated wireless LAN functionality decreases the cost of integrating new employees into the corporate network environment by doing away with cable connections. The Tecra 9000 concept delivers a stable platform with a single software image for all current and upcoming models within the series. All models share the same name, regardless of configuration. As standard, the system can run for more than 3 hours on battery power under normal working conditions. This can be extended with a second battery and the Slim SelectBay slot and by using Toshiba's SuperLongLife power management mode. This gives independence from a power outlet for over 7 hours. |

There is a wide choice of Slim SelectBay modules, which are compatible with the new Portégé 4000 ultra-portable series. You can choose between CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, CD-RW or even a CD-RW/DVD-ROM drive. With these drives, watching DVDs on the road or burning CDs on the go is easy and convenient. Connecting a video camera and editing movies is no problem either, thanks to the i.LINK® port and powerful S3 SuperSavage IXC graphics accelerator with 16 MB of graphics memory. These features ensure astonishing multimedia capabilities for both business and private use. |

There is a new Advanced Port Replicator for the Tecra 9000, which is compatible with other Toshiba professional notebooks such as the Portégé 4000. This new docking solution will be forwards compatible at least with the next Tecra series and also with other future Toshiba business notebooks. All standard ports are replicated on this cable management device. In addition, a digital video interface can be used with the Tecra 9000 platform. i.LINK ® (IEEE1394) devices can also be connected to the Advanced Port Replicator. |

The machine features all the standard ports. Two USB ports allow two USB devices to be connected directly to the machine without the need for a USB hub. The i.LINK® (IEEE1394) port can be used to connect a digital video camera or high-speed external hard disk. Presentations can be made using the external monitor port or even through a TV set (RCA connector). The integrated Secure Digital slot makes it possible to exchange and store data on a Secure Digital Memory Card. |
