Mobile technology has the ability to increase learners' motivation and satisfaction levels. Through its flexibility and ease of use it allows individuals to easily carry their learning from one situation to another. Mobile technology also gives teachers the freedom to work in any environment; thereby increasing their ICT skills and awareness.
Toshiba mobile technology for schools is dedicated to ensuring we achieve our aims of the 3 'R's:

Our relationship with the Education sector is long-standing and predicated on confidence, trust and a mutual commitment to quality and improved educational outcomes for learners.
Toshiba has built its leading position in the schools sector by the many relationships and partnerships it has created over many years of experience in education. The company works with organisations such as Specialist Schools and Academies Trust, Naace, HTI, eLearning Foundation together with a group of dedicated education resellers who bring together Toshiba technologies with other leading educational peripherals and software.
Toshiba has also created the Toshiba Ambassador programme. Formed in 2001 the Toshiba Ambassadors (UK) is a network of leaders and managers in schools, colleges, and universities with the recent addition of a number education specialists.
Toshiba provided the support for the network to communicate with each other and the group received regular visits from Toshiba technical and business development staff. The most beneficial aspect, for the educators, is the seminar programme, which holds workshops up to 3 times per year and is hosted by Toshiba often in partnership with one of the Ambassador organisations.
The format for the workshops varies but usually has the following components;
- An overview of recent developments in ICT in Education
- A research update from a number of different education organisations
- Presentations on impact evidence from a number of the Ambassadors on recent developments
- Technical update from Toshiba
- Presentation from host organisation on current issues in schools/colleges
- Feedback from Ambassadors on technical and pedagogical issues in wireless/portability/mobile learning
- New product testing with focus group feedback
