Why Toshiba for Capital Investment Programmes?
Toshiba have been involved with a number of the key Government initiatives over many years, including Laptops for Teachers, Computers for Pupils, Home Access and many more. Within all of these Toshiba was one of the main suppliers of mobile and portable devices and technological infrastructure and this is predicated on Toshiba’s passionate belief that the effective use of digital technology does improve access to learning, improves motivation, levels of achievement and attainment and reduces the bureaucratic burden on teachers and schools. We are a trusted and reliable partner for many educational institutions and this is due to a proven track record of providing innovative and reliable products that exceed expectations.
Although Toshiba does not supply the sector directly, we work closely with the relevant organisations that influence and implement policy to help ensure that we have a full understanding of the objectives, funding mechanisms and outcomes. The largest investment initiative over the last few years has been the Building Schools for the Future Programme and the Primary Capital Programme. Whilst these large scale initiatives have been under pressure due to the economic climate, there is still a significant amount of activity within schools across the country, covering rebuild or refurbishment of their facilities. In particular there is increased focus on developing the number of Academies and Free Schools and the support being offered by various sponsors to help these developments covers a wide range of organisations including Colleges, Universities, Third Sector, Private Companies and parent and Teacher led consortiums.
Toshiba have been successfully involved with BSF & PCP projects throughout the country and have engaged with the individual schools, local authorities, consultants or ICT partners. Ultimately we recognise that the technologies we can provide will only cover some of the wide ICT developments that a school has to consider, but there is a growing body of research evidence that the effective investment and use of digital technologies has a positive impact on learning. Therefore our priority is to ensure that any technology we provide is ideal for supporting improvements in teaching and learning and delivers high performance to minimise service issues and downtime. With the increased focus on "value for money" and sustainability assessments, Toshiba are able to demonstrate how we can provide financial savings within a "total cost of ownership" model, combining capital and operating expenditure. We have included a working model for whole life cost calculations, please click on the following link,

Within this section you will be able to review the various technologies that Toshiba can provide, how we can tailor our service and support agreements to meet any project requirements and what other partnership schemes we can offer to compliment the relationships we aim to build.
