Each year in March, we head to Hertfordshire and set up shop at The Grove hotel to showcase our latest and greatest devices to the UK press. And this year the star of the show was the stunning Toshiba 55ZL2B 55-inch 3D TV.

Packing an ultra-sharp quad Full HD resolution screen, immersive glasses-free 3D and a laundry list of cutting-edge features into its beautifully sleek chassis, the 55ZL2B is the new benchmark for 3D TVs to be measured by.

And it seems the experts agree. With British journalists loudly singing its praises, we’ve been taking a look at all that they’ve had to say about their first hands-on look at the Toshiba 55ZL2B and why it is the best 3D TV yet.

The gadget-fans at T3 were among the first to praise the 55ZL2B, saying, “This is definitely the best glasses free 3D that we've seen so far…” and pointing out that, “…the screen offers a near-perfect 3D picture….”

Rival gadget-mag Stuff was just as smitten with the stunning screen, noting, “ The [55ZL2B] has an incredible 3,840 x 2,160px Quad Full HD display…you'll be laughing when the rest of the world catches up with [Toshiba].”

And even the tech experts at Which? were blown away by the 55ZL2B’s super-sharp images, saying it, “…[displays] levels of detail I’ve not seen before on TV” and “[This] will come in handy when 4K broadcasting [goes] mainstream.”

But it’s not just the mainstream consumer press that has loved the gorgeous HD images and immersive 3D performance of the Toshiba 55ZL2B, as many of the UK’s dedicated technology titles have been equally captivated by it.

PC Advisor in particular was left awestruck by the unbeatable image quality, saying, ”The [55ZL2B’s screen] is nothing short of incredible. If you thought Full HD [1080p] was good then this is in a league of its own.”

The HD TV enthusiasts at HDTVtest were just as impressed, calling the 55ZL2B’s ultra-sharp screen “jaw-droppingly beautiful” and noting that “[you] get a lot of cutting-edge technologies for the price”.

And even the Daily Mail came to try out the 55ZL2B and loved its amazing features, saying, “The Toshiba ZL2 uses incredibly powerful computer processing…” and “It could mark a revolution in 3D televisions….”

With such fantastic first impressions we can’t wait to read the full reviews, now that the 55ZL2B is on sale in John Lewis and Harrods’ Technology Room and journalists are unboxing review samples and putting them to the ultimate test.
