What's more, it seems the cream of the UK’s technology press heartily agrees. Here we take a look at what the press thinks about the Toshiba 46YL863.
Among the first to try out the Toshiba 46YL863 were the HD TV aficionados at Trusted Reviews and reviewer John Archer quickly awarded it a whopping score of 9 out of 10, calling it, “…a bargain of irresistible proportions.”
The 46YL863’s gorgeous style stood out right away, with Archer saying, “Its silver, metallic finish, elegant lines and extremely trim bezel and rear shout ‘flagship TV’ at the top of their lungs “ and “…the results are genuinely lovely.”
Following up with, “…HD images look breathtakingly intense and immersive” and ending his review by saying, “…the results are spectacular”, Trusted Reviews were but the first to sing the praises of the Toshiba 46YL863.
Next up were the gadget-fans at T3, who wasted no time in slapping a 4 out of 5 badge on the feature-packed set and calling it, “…a marriage of science and art [which sports Toshiba’s] most ambitious picture processing tech yet….”
As well as the stunning design and features, T3 also loved the Toshiba 46YL863’s picture quality, saying, “…[HD] picture performance is brilliant…”, and noting, “…dark sequences exhibit an inky smoothness and detail….”
Finishing up with, “With its eye-catching Jacob Jensen design and inherently sharp, vibrant high-definition images, the Toshiba 46YL863 is an LED screen that’s comparable with the best…”, T3 was clearly won over by our great HD TV.
The home entertainment experts at TechRadar were even more smitten with the Toshiba 46YL863, as they put it to the test and ended up calling it, “…close to perfection”, while giving it an almost flawless score of 4.5 out of 5.
Again the Jacob Jensen design blew them away, as they said, “Its distinctive design is elegant in the extreme…” but image quality also impressed, as they noted, “Its 2D pictures…are easily the best Toshiba has produced.”
Closing with, “The Toshiba 46YL863 hits the ground running with an elegant, distinctive silvery design…” and “…[it] works hard to make what is ultimately a very sophisticated TV easy to use”, the 46YL863 was a clear winner yet again.
But it was the respected AV addicts at What Hi-Fi that were really won over by the Toshiba 46YL863, as they awarded the gorgeous HDTV a flawless score of 5 out of 5 and called it, “…a breath taking television in every sense.”
As with all reviewers, the What Hi-Fi team loved the 46YL863’s design and features, saying, “… this new set is a premium model [with] an extensive list of features [and] technologies aimed squarely at optimising picture quality.”
And leaving no doubt as to their love of this great set, they ended with, “…the lengths that Toshiba has gone to allow you to tweak the picture are remarkable” and “…this is a fantastic TV and the best Toshiba we’ve seen….”
